    Verdict

    STAND GUARD made short work of Activate when landing the odds at Wolverhampton a week ago and it could be similar story today. A win over track and trip can be found among 18 victories on the all-weather and John Butler's charge is hard to oppose. Asterism may give him a bit to think about as she's lightly-raced and not far behind the likely favourite on today's terms but has yet to race on Fibresand. The remainder will do well get involved though an improved effort from Jack Dawkins would be no surprise back on this surface.
