In depth

Verdict

A race which makes limited appeal for betting purposes. The weights are headed by Canford Thompson, who is likely to be a short-priced favourite having only found one too good in his last three - he’s now 0-16 on the Flat, however. Seasearch has improved a little since he’s stepped up in trip and has been dropped another 2lb since his sixth at Lingfield. FILUDO made his debut in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2016 so it won’t have been envisaged that he’d end up in a race like this. He showed that all is not yet lost on his first start for Roger Fell at Wolverhampton and might be the value. Cloud Nine looks best of the rest but that’s not saying much.
