    Verdict

It's a poor quality and muddling race to open things up where a shortlist could contain six names however, marginally, the strongest of those appears to be the seasoned campaigner EFISTORM with Spic 'N Span and Grimes Faith also looking strong. The selection has plenty of miles on the clock and has been a little off the pace until his last start when he was eased to a much more competitive mark. A further one pound reprieve will help his cause further, having won off a rating 15lbs higher, and this race might not take much winning. The fibresand is definitely the preferred surface of Spic 'N Span who has recorded his only two career wins at this track. The latest of those was four starts ago but the subsequent rise in his mark has been too much of a burden. Grimes Faith recorded back to back victories in poor non-handicap events last month and although his competitive display last time suggested this mark is not beyond his scope he is yet to win a handicap off a rating this high. Pride Of Northcare's mark looks high enough these days but this is an easier task than his last start and a return to form for Guto could have him in the prize money. It's a race that you can afford to leave be but if you want to get involved we marginally recommend Efistorm.
