A very modest seller, in which Plum is given a tentative vote of confidence over El Palmar and Dispol Peto, who may provide the sternest challenges out of the rest, while the performance of Awake in the opener will give a solid indication towards the chances of Prince Dayjur, who held ability when he was with Mark Wallace, but may be best watched on his first start for his new yard. Plum is a lightly raced sort for his age and knows how to get his head in front when he is asked to dig deep. He was well supported when he was last seen out and it will be interesting to see if his connections are as confident this afternoon. El Palmar has been out of action a while longer than the selection and, despite holding sound claims at this level, he may not have things go his way today. He enjoyed the run of the race when winning a claimer at Thirsk last season and is unlikely to have such an easy time of things today. Therefore a bigger threat may come form Dispol Peto, who has race-fitness on his side and goes well on the surface. However, he is hard to win with and is vulnerable to a less exposed rival. Which is presented in the shape of Plum this afternoon and any clues from the betting to support his claims should not be ignored.
