In a competitive little nursery, Victor Trumper is selected to get the win at the main expense of Chookie Hamilton. He has run as if crying out for this step back up to a mile, and although he was slightly disappointing in a similar contest last week he gets the nod today. The blinkers are dispensed with today after having very little effect last time out, and it is hoped that this longer trip will see him in a better light. Chookie Hamilton beat the in-form Lake Pontchartrain a fortnight ago at Wolverhampton, and if handling this surface with similar aplomb he could be a big player. Spartan Dance improved on his first two efforts with a solid third behind Legend house over course and distance, and if continuing to improve he shouldn't be too far away. Right Option makes up the lineup, but he is yet to win in nine attempts and so is easily passed over. For the winner then, we return to Peter Chapple-Hyam's Victor Trumper.
