Former Ian Wood inmate Saltagioo is far from guaranteed to get home here, while My Shamwari may not represent great value, and it might be worth chancing TANTO FAZ on his hurdling debut. John Quinn's relatively few recent runners have been showing decent form and this Rock Of Gibraltar gelding, who just about stays 1m 4f on the flat, would have a better chance than most here if able to transfer his flat mark of 78 to its jumping equivalent. At his best on a sound surface, he is sure to have been well schooled and this trip should be ideal for him. Saltagioo, on the other hand, seems much better over a mile on the level, although there is winning form over 10f on his CV. He will love the sound surface, but if they go any sort of gallop then his ability to see it out is questionable. My Shamwari was runner up in a bumper here in May, his only public appearance to date. His pedigree suggests that he can go well, although he may be better suited to three miles in time. Aztec Treasure may improve for the experience of a couple of runs but has a fair bit to prove, especially on the ground, and Tanto Faz gets the nod.
