Verdict

Modernism is penalised for a recent win at Lingfield and has yet to race on this surface while Ready went close at Wolverhampton last time but an earlier effort on the Fibresand does not boost confidence. Prolific course winner The Lock Master is preferred to stablemate Taysh while Countermand won a maiden here but returned a losing favourite back in handicap company last time when ahead of RALPHY LAD. The latter has subsequently shown signs of a return to form with a second at the track and Alan Swinbank's course and distance winner gets the nod now back on a winning mark.
