held up in rear, headway over 5f out, led over 4f out, clear over 1f out, easily
in touch, led over 5, headed over 4, driven over 3f out, weakened final furlong
soon led, ridden and headed over 5f out, soon beaten
Wicked Daze is likely to be at short odds for the opener on the Southwell card following three encouraging efforts when finding one too good last year and Sir Mark Prescott's gelding is hard to oppose, getting the verdict ahead of Botham, with Lady's Law the best of the rest. This is a contest that lacks any real strength in depth, with Red Fama, who has been off the track for a long time, and Long Gone, who has a rating of just 27, making no appeal whatsoever. Lady's Law is only marginally better than the last mentioned and of more interest may be Botham, who ran promisingly here last month before disappointing at Wolverhampton last week. Wicked Daze is the clear form pick though and he is hard to oppose.
