A very moderate finale but Monnow Valley, who has never started less than 100/1, enters calculations after a very much better run at Tipperary 10 days ago, his first run since July. Notturno caught the eye staying on into fifth and could turn the tables over this slightly longer trip but Timeless Piece, Thats Jet, and Fuli are all held. The rider of Show No Fear, who finished eighth, mistook the winning post inside the final furlong or would have been closer. WHISKY ON THE HILL has also been at long odds in all starts but did better than expected when a very close third over the trip at Cork on his handicap debut so can get off the mark.
