VISION D'ETAT has had his season geared towards retaining the title he won with a narrow but emphatic defeat of today's rival Collection in this last year though he looked fully wound up when runner-up to Twice Over in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket. He's a world-class performer over this trip and may just have too much pace for dual Oaks winner Snow Fairy, though Ed Dunlop's star was mightily impressive when landing a Grade 1 over 1m3f at Kyoto last month. Planteur attempted to make all in the 'Arc' and didn't succumb until late where he wandered and was eventually disqualified. This looks more his trip and he can provide a threat without troubling his compatriot Vision D'Etat.
