BASFORD and Socks Off fought out a finish at Sedgefield a couple of weeks ago with the latter coming out on top but today’s race is over slightly further and Jennie Candlish’s inmate was not stopping. Ballyporeen didn’t appear to get home at Musselburgh over 3m and it will be interesting to see what the market makes of that while Nights Of Doyen has a first start for fledgling handler Katie Leckenby. Maggie Barrett won a maiden hurdle here but was well held when campaigned over a shorter trip a fortnight ago.
