Verdict

Sigurd trounced Furius De Ciergues and last year’s winner SPIRIT OF HALE at Catterick two runs ago and reportedly didn’t handle the stiff track at Carlisle last time when on a hat-trick. Doubts remain that he stays this far and Jennie Candlish’s stayer can take his revenge and repeat his success of 12 months ago. Late Date was once a standing dish over course and distance but he appears to have lost the plot. Iskabeg Lane’s two victories have come over a much shorter trip at Market Rasen.
