In depth

Verdict

A bumper winner at Downpatrick, CHAMPAGNESOCIALIST finished a promising second at Tramore on her hurdling debut and John McConnell’s mare will prove a warm order travelling over from Ireland. Maggie Barrett failed to win in Ireland but ran well at Newcastle on her debut for a new yard while Lipa K is another formerly trained across the Irish Sea where he landed a bumper though was well beaten at Chepstow on is hurdling bow. The remainder make no appeal.
