Finbin won a handicap off this mark over the C&D last May but has run very poorly in just three subsequent starts. Riskier had four lengths to spare over Cloudy Dawn in the race won very easily by Danny John Boy at Hexham earlier this month. The latter wasn't suited by the soft ground and made a bad error at a crucial stage so can reverse the form, and Smart Mistress was pulled up in the same event. Old Style showed very little over hurdles so it's a surprise to see him making his chasing debut in a handicap as is Hathamore, who has been in poor form over timber. FRONTIER BOY finished a distance behind Super Ally when they met at Kelso last month but was only three-and-a-half lengths behind the same horse on a return visit a month later. That was only his third start over fences and with further progress likely he looks well enough handicapped to take this.
