Verdict

A winner at Catterick at the start of the year, Edgar Allan Poe was third here last month off a higher mark and has every chance in a modest finale. COUP DE GOLD is only 1-25 over timber and has been racing over longer trips but the soft going today will aid his cause, as will first-time cheekpieces. George Mallory could also figure on a going day but the jury is out on Tonyx after the top weight was pulled up in a seller on his belated reappearance.
