Gunadoir is taken to land the opener at the expense of Surricate and Susiedil, with Kissinthepeach worth a mention at least. Gunadoir has been runner-up on each of his last two starts, at Leicester and Ayr, and as his form seemed to improve on the softer going, hopes are high that he can open his account with conditions to suit. The Nicky Richards inmate does not in truth have a lot to fear, with the main danger expected to come from Ferdy Murphy's Surricate, a French import who has looked one-paced on each of his four British outings. He looks the sort that will develop into a nice staying chaser in time, but is taken on today. Of the rest, Susiedil has shown a modicum of ability but has been off the track for over three months, while Kissinthepeach hails from a stable going well at present but needs to show much more to figure. All in all, it is Gunadoir that holds the soundest claims.
