A competitive field goes to post for this novices chase and the main protagonists appear to be Virgin Solider, Little Task and Regar and we will take a chance on Virgin Solider. The gelding from the Alan Swinbank yard was much better than these rivals over hurdles and he jumped much better when making all to defeat Taleban last time out over a longer trip. He should be just as effective over this shorter trip and with conditions in his favour he will be hard to beat. Little Task rates the main danger he was a fair third behind Sunday Rain last time and if Virgin Soliders jumping does not stand up to the test he should be the one to capitalise. Regar has had plenty of chances in similar contests and still remains a maiden so for that reason we will oppose him on this occasion. Of the remainder Amjad would have a chanced on his best hurdle form but he may need this run after a fair absence so we will stick with Virgin Solider.
