There may only be four runners in this but it looks a tight handicap. Miss Mobot only found one too good over similar trips at Newton Abbot and Stratford in July. Mont Choisy arrives off the back of a win at Newton Abbot and a 7lb rise is negated by the claim of the excellent James Bowen but TAWSEEF produced a career-best effort to score at Cartmel last month when racing from out of the handicap. He can race off his correct mark here and Lorcan Murtagh still takes off 5lb. The selection’s stablemate Welsh Bard hasn’t raced over hurdles in more than three years and remains out of sorts.
Miss Mobot 7-1 (11-10) Tracked leaders in 3rd place, went 2nd from 3 out, ridden and every chance before last, kept on and always held by winner towards finish, 2nd of 6, 3 1/2l behind Lillian (11-6) at Stratford 3m 2f hcp (3) gs in Jul.
Mont Choisy (FR) 3-1fav (11-7) Tracked leaders, went 2nd 3 out, ridden before next, led between last 2, stayed on well, won at Newton Abbot 3m 2f hcp (4) gs in Aug beating Sporting Boy (11-12) by 6l, 11 ran.
Tawseef (IRE) 16-1 (10-0) Pressed leader, led briefly 3rd, led after 2 out, ridden clear last bend, stayed on, won at Cartmel 3m 1f hcp (2) gs in Aug beating Court King (10-3) by 3 1/2l, 6 ran.
Welsh Bard (IRE) 9-2 (11-9) Prominent, several slow jumps and often pushed along, 3rd and beaten before last bend, stayed on same pace, 3rd of 7, 11 3/4l behind Shake It Up (11-9) at Cartmel 3m 1f hcp (4) gs in Aug.
