Verdict

Corkan has struggled since landing a staying event at Fontwell in May and looks set to face another stiff task off his current mark while Little Brown Bear is another in the handicapper's grip at present so the vote goes to Pessimistic Dick. The five-year-old mare regained the winning thread at Cartmel last time (now 4lb higher) and impressed with the manner of her victory as she drew well clear in the closing stages.
