SNAPPING TURTLE (NAP) finished a long way ahead of Onwiththeparty and recent Wetherby winner Houndscourt when awarded a race at Catterick in December. Successful over track and trip off an 8lb higher mark in 2015, Donald Whillans’ 12-year-old stays all day and lies plenty of give in the ground so should take all the beating today having only found one too good last time at Kelso. Joseph Mercer should get a lot closer to Houndscourt today on 9lb better terms but is probably better treated over fences at present. The Model County finished second at Towcester in December but has reverted to type since.
