Phase Shift hasn't won for two years and was beaten in four successive sellers last summer. Hi Dancer gained his 16th career victory here a year ago but went up an astonishing 17lb and has been well beaten in two subsequent starts. Baraboy won here in December and is on a 1lb lower mark but Roskilly has been running poorly and his lone success came on soft ground. Amir Pasha has won ten of his 123 starts and is by no means out of this but it's about time FIRST OF NEVER was winning a race. Lynn Siddall's charge is reasonably consistent at this sort of level and though 4lb out of the handicap he's dropped 7lb in the ratings since the turn of the year and that could swing things his way.
