In depth

Verdict

Evander made all and defied mistakes over slightly shorter here on Boxing Day then unseated his rider at the first at Catterick. He'll need to jump much better against this opposition. Len Brennan made all and came home on the bridle here in November but was quickly beaten in a three-runner race at Hereford later that month, which wasn't his form. Kerrkenny Gold, twice runner-up in Irish bumpers, has been well beaten in his three starts over hurdles for new connections but this longer trip may bring about some improvement. ULTERIOR MOTIVES gave notice of an imminent victory here early last month and returned to land a handicap in very good style. She has a bit to find but looks to be improving and can score again. Bavington Bob's saddle slipped on his hurdling bow at Kelso.
