In depth

Verdict

Wintered Well was second at Doncaster on Friday, though still beaten nine lengths by the winner who was eased heavily in the closing stages. Jack Albert has hinted at ability and is now tried in blinkers but BEAUMONT'S PARTY, who has won five times on the Flat, would outclass these if getting his act together over timber. He hasn't managed a place in five attempts but was sent off favourite at Kelso in March and it will be a surprise if Brian Ellison can't wring some improvement out of him. Light The City has also enjoyed some success on the level and makes his handicap debut over timber after the obligatory three starts - he is another with claims.
