Verdict

The obvious one here given his record in bumpers would be Alan Swinbank's Transact, and although he was sired by heavy ground French flat winner Trans Island, and so may act well on the surface, we prefer SI BIEN. James Ewart's runners have been going well of late and he had a Newcastle bumper winner last week with a similar profile to the selection. Si Bien is related winning French performers over hurdles and fences, over trips further than this. Therefore stamina should not be an issue here, nor should his ability to handle the ground and so we will side with him now stepped up to this more suitable trip. Transact is much respected but may be up against it given he has no public racing experience. Zoenicibel handled the ground well enough at Hexham last time and Malcolm Jefferson's mare can show us more here, while Kayaka is an interesting runner for the in-form Paul Murphy, although the conditions here might just be too testing. Si Bien is chanced in the last.
