Some promising maidens on show, but Blaina sets the standard and she should be hard to beat. Runner-up to both Tadris and Dash For Cover in her last couple of outings, she wouldn't be winning out of turn and she is taken to confirm the form with Nawadi, who was just behind her at Salisbury. Barry Hills' filly was weak in the market that day and is sure to improve for the experience, but it could just be that is as good as she is. Dicharachera has shown enough to suggest she is capable of winning a small contest, but she may do better when she goes handicapping along with Radiant Energy, who has plenty to find with the the selection, using Tadris as a yardstick. Of the others, Penny Pie is clearly open to improvement, as is Rustic Charm, who is a half-sister to the useful Dancing Bay and Kasamba. However, Blaina sets a useful standard and is clearly the one to beat.
