Verdict

Definitly Red is not quite top drawer but he regularly mops up in this grade and can be hard to pass if getting into rhythm. He gave 3lb and a two-length beating to BLACK CORTON at Wetherby back in November but the bare result tells only half the story and Bryony Frost was almost unseated early on and performed wonders to stay in the plate. If he puts in an error-free round here, the Nicholls’ eight-year-old could take revenge and grab a belated first victory of the season. Gold Present could be interesting as the trip will suit and he ran much better at Ayr last time before falling two out. Charbel could worry the leaders but the distance is a problem and this looks too hot for handicappers Cobra De Mai, Go Conquer and San Benedeto.
