Verdict

ABLE MASTER is a speculative pick at the expense of Brenin Taran and Master Of Disguise. Bryan Smart's charge looked a very smart individual as a juvenile but the trainer was in no doubt that we'd see the best of him this season and at the likely odds, he makes plenty of appeal. Brenin Taran has the benefit of match fitness. He won well at Thirsk though this is very much a step up in grade. Master Of Disguise won on the bit at Bath last autumn. He could be anything. Roger Charlton's form has been patchy in the early part of the season but it would be no surprise to see Affluent come on for the run. Peter Winkworth's runners seem in good order so Cut The Cackle is worth more than just a cursory glance in the market. Evelyn May put up a fair run on reappearance at Kempton. Noble Storm was not disgraced in listed company and in fairness to the trainer, his runners have been placing rather than hitting the bullseye of late. A tough race for punters to get a handle on so we side with Able Master.
