      Verdict

      The top five in the handicap have all won over the trip. Amazing Red was placed in a similar-class handicap at Newmarket last time but wouldn't want the ground too quick. Platitude hasn't won for over two years and though dropped accordingly in the ratings has been beaten in lower grade the last three times. Diocletian went up 11lb for winning by 11 lengths over the trip at Chester in September then failed to stay the 2m4f of the Ascot Stakes on his reappearance. Kaloor has never raced over the trip but MANCINI stays extreme distances and is back on his last winning mark so gets the nod.
