Silverheels has come up short in a couple of starts in Group 2 company and could find the competition too hot in this as well. Talwar just got the better of Trumpet Major in a Listed event at Ascot last month and, with a previous C&D win to his credit, he looks sure to go close. The latter has subsequently landed the odds in a conditions race at Newmarket and won't be far away from wherever Jeremy Noseda's colt finishes, but a chance is taken on the one with most to prove, namely EASTERN SUN. Relatively unfancied for his debut, he beat a subsequent winner with the minimum of fuss at Newbury, and it will be no surprise if he proves good enough here as John Gosden has won this three times in the last nine years with a roll-call that includes the top-class Raven's Pass.

Silverheels (IRE) 16-1 (9-0) Bumped start, held up and gradually switched right to race on outside over 4f out, headway over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, never going pace to threaten, 4th of 10, 4 1/2l behind Harbour Watch (9-0) at Goodwood 6f 2yo Grp 2 (1) gf in Jul.
Talwar (IRE) 9-2 (9-2) Tracked leader, led over 2f out, strongly challenged entering final furlong, hard driven, stayed on gamely, won at Ascot 7f Listed stks 2yo (1) gs in Jul beating Trumpet Major (9-2) by shd, 7 ran.
Trumpet Major (IRE) 8-11fav (9-1) Tracked leader, led approaching final furlong, soon switched to stand side rail, ridden and ran on strongly, comfortably, won at Newmarket 7f 2yo stk (2) gf beating Elkhart (8-13) by 6l, 4 ran.
