        Verdict

        Both Sides went close at Nottingham last time and was placed over course and distance before that. But he’s been raised 6lb as a consequence while both Bedrock and Frozen Force have been beaten off higher marks since winning at Haydock and Brighton respectively. ACRUX spread-eagled the field when landing a maiden race at Wolverhampton on his latest start. David Lanigan’s colt gets the vote with further progress expected now handicapping. Toulson and Calvinist are other lightly-raced handicap debutants, though the latter is making a belated seasonal debut.
