A typically-open renewal of this series final. Sandy Thomson’s yard had a couple of notable winners at Kelso last weekend and the form of War Soldier’s two victories has worked out well, though he was very disappointing over this trip in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time and behind Henri The Second. The latter’s yard has sent out the winner of this in two of the last three years and four times in total and the progressive Hugos New Horse has plenty in his favour again in search of a five-timer. Etalon got off the mark tackling soft going at Wetherby and should have more to offer while both Crambo and Churchills Boy have only been beaten once so far under Rules. TWINJETS was surprisingly turned over by Twin Power here five weeks ago but is 7lb better off with the winner, whom he’d beaten earlier at Plumpton. Milton Harris’ six-year-old is taken to land this as Inneston looks held on collateral form, though Leicester scorer Cuthbert Dibble is a danger.
