This looks tricky, despite the small field. Diamant Bleu needed the experience when well beaten at Exeter in a race in which Rayvin Black blundered and unseated his rider at the first. Oliver Sherwood’s once-useful hurdler then won at Ludlow but is the senior runner here. The Last But One is two from two over fences and has found his niche but SILVERHOW looks to have the stronger form. Colin Tizzard’s novice is improving with experience and was a decisive winner in this grade last time at Wincanton.
Rayvin Black 5-1 (10-12) Mostly jumped well raced keenly, headway to lead 2nd, made rest, in command 2 out, clear when mistake last, edged right and kept on well run-in, won at Ludlow 2m 4f (4) gs in Feb beating Coastal Tiep (11-4) by 4l, 4 ran.
Diamant Bleu (FR) 11-2 (10-9) Chased leaders, outpaced 4 out, no chance in modest 4th from next, 4th of 6, dist behind Allysson Monterg (10-12) at Exeter 2m 3f (3) hvy in Feb.
Silverhow (IRE) 13-8fav (11-3) Jumped right, tracked leaders, mistake 1st, went 2nd 7th, led and baulked 3 out, clear from next, ridden out, won at Wincanton 2m 4f hcp (3) hvy in Feb beating Allee Bleue (11-1) by 3l, 4 ran.
The Last But One (IRE) 5-2fav (11-11) Tracked leading pair, reached for 2nd, tracked leader briefly 7th, 2nd 4 out, challenged next, awkward last, led run-in, readily, won at Fontwell 2m 6f hcp (4) gs in Feb beating Cap Horner (11-10) by 3l, 8 ran.
