Verdict

This race is often won by a bright prospect and the three penalised runners could struggle in a race that's potentially competitive. Reference to the market is advised but CABINET MINISTER, Bensalem and Qroktou are three that we would expect to feature prominently. Very Stylish, Pipe Banner and Pepe Simo are three more names to conjure with whilst Katmai is related to a German Group 2 winner and would have to be of interest in this sphere if sharing in his sibling's ability. Qroktou is related to winners in France and hails from a yard that has already introduced a decent performer in this division. Bensalem comfortably won a division of a Dromahane maiden in a fast time at Christmas and has a number of bumper winners in the family and is also from a yard whose bumper horses are going well. Carl Llewellyn has tended to only ride his better horses since taking out a trainer's licence and his followers have been rewarded by a one in three strike rate and a healthy level stakes profit. This one's immediate family haven't achieved a great deal but the presence of Llewellyn in the saddle is sufficient for us to award Cabinet Minister the vote. (Ian Ogg)
