Spark Plug came close to landing a Listed race at Goodwood in May before disappointing when dropped to a mile at York, but while this trip mat be more to his liking, his hold-up style can leave him vulnerable in a slowly-run race. Ayrad has course and distance winning form but isn’t a consistent performer at this level while Frankuus hasn’t shown much progression in his three-year-old career to date. In a wide open race, FANCIFUL ANGEL could be the answer. He was keen early on when stepped up to 1m2f last time but overcame bad luck in running to snatch a decent-looking handicap on the line and has already shown he can win at this level. The consistent Kidmenever can also be involved at the finish.
