Paul Nicholls has taken the last two runnings of the Tolworth Hurdle with Noland and more recently Silverburn and he has a live one in the form of Breedsbreeze today. However Calgary Bay made short work of some fair types last time out and the mount of AP McCoy is fancied to win again today at the main expense of Deep Purple and Alsadaa. Henrietta Knight's gelding was not an expensive purchase but the way that he won at Cheltenham last time out suggests that he could prove to be a real bargain. Chasing is likely to be his game in time but he defied the jump in class last time and is taken to do so again. This soft ground could be a major worry for both Alsadaa and Deep Purple who have both been impressing lately on quicker ground; the latter in particular has had a fine season winning from the front but he may not get his own way up front today. Moonhawk and Sweetheart are both unexposed having both won on their debut, whilst Quartano is thrown in at the deep end on his hurdling debut and it may prove just too much despite his obvious promise in bumpers last season. Breedsbreeze must be respected on ground that he has proven himself on, however we will return to Calgary Bay for the selection.
