Paul Webber's Australia Day and Henry Cecil's Jack Dawkins come here on the back of a win last time at Sandown and Doncaster respectively but both have been heavily raised by the handicapper and preference is for ALPEN GLEN. Mark Johnston's filly is the least exposed of the 11 runners after just two starts and, having won her maiden in good style prior to a winning start in good fashion in handicap-company at Chester, she looks well treated having been raised just 6lbs for that Chester success. John Dunlop's Mountain Pride won well over course and distance when last seen in May and he has to be respected but an 8lb rise since then seems a shade harsh, while Ramona Chase has been given a chance by the handicapper but needs to improve on recent form to trouble the judge. Alan King's Emerald Wilderness has been running well over hurdles of late and could be of interest back on the level off a fair mark but Alpen Glen is open to plenty more improvement and she is preferred.
