A cracking event with last years winner Solo Mio, Persian Punch and Royal Rebel all in opposition again. Solo Mio, should confirm the form if straight enough after his break. Persian Punch in turn holds Akbar on Yorkshire Cup running, even though that track does not appear to bring out the best in David Elsworth's grand warrior. Beekeeper is an interesting runner at this trip. A close up fourth in last years Great Voltigeur, behind Milan, Godolphin's representitive will be a threat to all. Runner-up in this event three years ago, Rainbow High might just find this too competitive this time round, while the useful Daliapour, who tries this trip for the first time, Ovambo who was just in front of the former in the Ormonde Stakes, Invermark, who may prefer more cut in the ground and the game Murghem, who will love this faster ground, all have a chance of sorts. A chance is taken with the quirky but progressive Bosham Mill. Geoff Wragg's Naswan gelding, left the impression he would make up into a far better four-year-old and he can take this en-route to better things.
