Royals Darling is fancied to reverse recent form with Verasi, while Taranis and French raider Kasbah Bliss are also shortlisted in what looks a real minefield for the betting public to sift through; each-way support for Whispered Secret and Material World would do nothing but help to cloud the picture even further. Material World is a really tough mare that does not know how to run a bad race (her attitude being all more commendable considering that she only has one eye). She comfortably held Refinement when they met at Cheltenham recently and she is expected to run a big race in spite of going up 8lb for her Prestbury Park success. Whispered Secret has been given a chance by the handicapper and reverts to hurdles on a winning mark. David Pipe has picked up where his father left off in these valuable contests and this fellow is one to seriously monitor in the betting. Kasbah Bliss has a consistent profile and should cope with the ground. However, he does face a stiff test on these terms and needs everything to go his way. As does Taranis, who has to be a live danger when his chase rating is taken into consideration. The trip is ideal for Paul Nicholls' charge and he may represent good value as a saver option in such a competitive heat. Verasi was just in front of the selection when they met at Kempton in the Lanzarote Hurdle three weeks ago and he should make a bold bid to uphold the form. However, even though he goes well at Sandown, the hill seems to find him out at this trip. Therefore, we take a chance that the terms of the race suit Royals Darling a touch better and this lightly raced gelding is fancied to prove the Nicky Henderson team with another large slice of weekend cheer.
