Ameeq can make a winning start to his career over hurdles, with Spidam, Rosecliff and Kanpai certain to have their supporters as well. Gary Moore has his winter team in very good form at present, emphasised by a double at Plumpton on Wednesday, and Ameeq can come good at the first time of asking. A maiden in eight starts on the Flat for Marcus Tregoning, the son of Silver Hawk nevertheless shaped with a great deal of promise, and he is reported to have schooled really well over timber. A bold show here may see him earn a quote for the Triumph Hurdle, and he is worth chancing against slightly more experienced opponents. Spidam was successful on his only outing over hurdles in France but looked more of a long-term prospect when third on his debut for Paul Nichols at Wincanton. He is a future chaser in the making and may be worth taking on today, but on today's terms he should at least turn the tables on Rosecliff who was ahead of him at Wincanton. Desert Secrets probably needed the run when fourth on her Huntingdon debut and should pick up a race or two in time, but our vote goes to Ameeq.
