VALIANT was worth a try in Group 3 company at Newbury last time but found the soft ground against him. He'd earlier won in good style a York and is worth another chance on only his fourth start. Mijhaar was sent off favourite for the John Smith's Cup at York and was going well until clipping heels and nearly falling. He looks sure to figure with a clear run but the handicapper is loathed to do any favours for Start Right despite his long losing run and stablemate Man Of Action is preferred. Luca Cumani has won this a couple of times in recent years so Fulgur and Indian Jack should be noted for any support but will need to improve on their latest efforts while Licence To Till makes most appeal of the Johnston runners and Fadhaa should also go well.
