Mexican Pete has been in good form of late but a 5lb penalty for his most recent success at Redcar leaves him with more to do here and we prefer to side with Flamenco Bride, who gets the verdict over Colourful Lady. The last mentioned is trained by Peter Harris who has his string in good order at present and has slipped to an attractive mark. Bred to appreciate the step up in trip, she is entitled to plenty of respect. John Dunlop's Exquisite Affair is less exposed than most and should not be dismissed lightly along with Amanda Perrett's Alchemystic. However, Flamenco Bride has solid claims and is hard to ignore. David Elsworth's filly has only raced five times to date and showed her best form at Sandown last time when third to improving handicapper One Off and Tuesday's Yarmouth winner Anak Pekan. That form looks rock solid and, off just a 1lb higher mark, Flamenco Bride is taken to open her account.
