Verdict

THIMBLEWEED made a debut of real promise when third in a useful-looking Sandown maiden and the Beckett filly looks the one to beat on that evidence granted normal improvement. She looks clear best of the four fillies and should be able to beat the boys in receipt of the 5lb sex allowance. Killdeer will have to improve on an ordinary fourth at Brighton although some progress should be forthcoming, but it could well be that the main dangers emanate from the two newcomers. John Gosden's Momtalik has an all-American pedigree and should be noted in the market along with Spirit Ridge, a son of Nathaniel, the latter bred by and representing Juddmonte.
