      Verdict

      BROWN SUGAR can be considered an unlucky loser at Newmarket where he missed the break and had to switch around a wall of horses before finishing runner-up to Jallota. He was totally unfancied and with that experience behind him it will take a very good effort to beat him. Earl Of Menteith is the third foal of a mare who has produced two winners though over middle to long distances. He should do better when sent over further while Three Peaks also has a pedigree suggesting a longer trip will be required. Harwoods Volante is a full brother to a 5f winner so he should have the necessary pace while Zampa Manos is a half-brother to juvenile winner in the USA.
