This could prove an informative contest with a number of these having already shown useful form this season. Fadhaa's close second to Brown Panther at Chester last month could hardly have worked out any better and that effort gives him the beating of Whiplash Willie on a line through the winner. But Barry Hills' colt is 6lb higher here and far from certain to confirm that running with third Colour Vision, though the latter disappointed at Musselburgh next time. Kinryas scored on his reappearance at Windsor and still has some scope, while Ardlui won easily at Thirsk on only his third start and Slight Advantage will appreciate the easier ground here. Pivotman beat Epsom Derby third Carlton House on his debut last year but may need this and we prefer another making his reappearance off a much more attractive mark. MAHAB EL SHAMMAAL overcame inexperience to make a winning debut on soft ground at Pontefract in the autumn. Bred to relish this trip, it may be worth taking a chance on his fitness with Martin Lane once again teaming up with David Simcock, on whose handicappers he had such a good strike rate last year.
