      Verdict

The stronger division of this novice with plenty already having displayed a form level to indicate an ordinary maiden is within their grasp. Harlequin tackles Turf for the first time however, while Smokey Bear looks solid but may need to step up again in what rates his most competitive assignment to date. Both Stoweman and Bright Valentine revealed a decent level of talent first time up and should progress further and prove dangerous but IMPRESSOR came home well after running green on his Goodwood debut and just gets the nod on that evidence. The market should help to sort out some interesting newcomers.
