Esteem Machine seems to be returning to form after a long break and while he is potentially well treated IVORY SILK is on form and looks well in so is preferred while Canadian Danehill is also considered for this very tough sprint handicap. We haven't seen the pick since he missed out by a short head at Great Leighs in January when chasing a hat-trick in handicap company. In his absence the assessor has seen it fit to drop his mark nine pounds so if he can pick up where he left off now returning to turf he looks to have an outstanding chance. Esteem Machine's last victory came also came on the polytrack at Great Leighs in April 2008. He then had a couple of disappointing runs before taking a long break and since his return he has slowly begun to find some form. If he is back to somewhere near his best his mark looks a little light. Canadian Danehill finished just behind the re-opposing Blue Jack last time out and while he is entitled to overturn that form on these revised terms the handicapper has not made things easy for him to score raising him a further two pounds. Equuleus Pictor would have a chance if he takes up this engagement over one at York earlier in the week but even if he does run Ivory Silk looks to have really good claims.
