Briannsta is taken in the finale with Quantum Leap and Seamus Shindig holding claims. Briannsta has not sparkled of late but Clive Cox's team are running creditably at present and his recent effort at Windsor was at least a step in the right direction. Quantum Leap is a tricky ride and needs to be produced at the right time. He does well on esoteric tracks and will give supporters plenty of thrills late on in the piece. Seamus Shindig almost looked to have the race in the bag at Brighton before consenting to throw it away by hanging violently left. He has ability but the effort does not match the potential offered on the bridle. Dvinsky can never be ruled out in races of this nature and can be forgiven a below par run at Brighton as the ground would not have suited. It's difficult to know whether he will consent to give his all until push comes to shove. Currency continues to run consistently but it is getting on for almost two years since he put his head in front at the post. Briannsta has work to do on recent showings but gets the nod on account of his stable's fine form at present.
