Tullius won the Diomed at Epsom last time but could only manage fifth in last year’s renewal having won this way back in 2012. He’s got his work cut out to beat MASSAAT (NAP) today as the latter clearly failed to stay the Derby trip at Epsom in June but had finished runner-up in the 2000 Guineas and last year’s Dewhurst before that. Sovereign Debt has developed a bad case of seconditis this year but is weighted to go close while the remainder are closely matched on these terms. Master The World was ahead of Belgian Bill in a handicap at Goodwood last month but Zonderland has a bit to find with the selection and Tupi is preferred to Tony Curtis of the Hannon duo.
Belgian Bill 10-1 (9-4) Chased leaders, keeping on when not much room and squeezed through over 1f out, ridden and stayed on inside final furlong, went 4th towards finish, not pace to challenge, 4th of 19, 3 1/4l behind Franklin D (9-1) at Goodwood 1m hcp (2) gf in Jul.

Tupi (IRE) 25-1 (9-3) Held up in rear, ridden over 2f out, effort over 1f out, no impression, 6th of 8, 7 1/2l behind Dutch Connection (9-3) at Goodwood 7f Grp 2 stks (1) gf in Jul.
