In depth

Verdict

The short list consists of Degas Art, Nimra and Sybella, with the vote going to Nimra. Degas Art's Newmarket second to Markovitch marks him down as one to respect here, as does his second to Olympian Odyssey the time before that, but we will take a achance on Nimra. The selection is a $180,000 son of Cozzene and, much as starting him off over 12 furlongs is maybe not entirely a positive but we shall see; watch the betting for clues. Mick Channon's El Faro has not shown too much in two starts yet, while Galibard's stable is in good form and, with his stable able to ready one at the first time of asking, watch the market. Artist's Muse has likeable breeding although his stable has yet to hit form, while Sybella has a fairly similar profile to the selection and the daughter of In The Wings is respected. Overall, though, a chance is taken with Nimra.
