BAL DE RIO landed a Listowel claimer in May last year and was having only his second subsequent start when a close fourth behind the in-form Dark Spark in a Kilbeggan handicap so should be hard to beat. Sicario won a maiden on the latter track in August but hasn't been in the best of form on the Flat while Shes Some Doll has been chasing without showing much since scoring at Tramore in December. Scarpeta won a similar race to this at Clonmel in March and has since run on the Flat and over fences. He looks the main threat in receipt of 16lb from the selection.
